Who we are

What we collect and why

We do not ask for Social Security numbers, bank details, or claim documents. Never send them to us; file claims only through the official channels linked in each guide.
Who we share it with
- Service providers that run the Site: our hosting provider, the form service (FormSubmit) that delivers contact messages, Google (Analytics, AdSense), and TikTok (measurement). They process data under their own privacy terms.
- No sale of personal information. We don't sell your personal information and haven't in the past 12 months. Ad personalization through Google may count as "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law; you can opt out as described below.
- Legal reasons if required by law or to protect the Site.
Your choices
- Ads: manage personalized ads at adssettings.google.com and through the consent message shown to visitors in the EU, UK, and Switzerland. Use your browser or device settings to block cookies.
- Global Privacy Control: we honor GPC browser signals as an opt-out of sharing for targeted advertising where required by state law.
- Contact data: email us to access, correct, or delete anything you sent.
California and other U.S. state privacy rights
If you live in California (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to delete it, to correct it, to opt out of sale or sharing/targeted advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. To exercise them, email hello@whatamiowed.com with "Privacy request" in the subject. We'll verify your request using the email address you write from. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof of authorization.
EU/UK visitors (GDPR)
Where the GDPR applies, you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. You can complain to your local supervisory authority; ours is the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
Children
The Site is not directed to children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Data retention and security
We keep contact messages for up to a year, and analytics data for the retention period set in Google Analytics (26 months by default). We use HTTPS and reputable providers, but no system is perfectly secure.
